Delta Township’s Carrier Creek Project Setting Precedent for Environmentally-Sound Drain Projects in Michigan


Drain Commissioners, their staff members, engineers and consultants from throughout Michigan will gather this month to learn more about Delta Township’s Carrier Creek Restoration and Stormwater Management Project. The project, which is the first full creek reconstruction in the state, is being featured as an example of best management practices that balance stormwater drain improvements with environmental conservation.

Carrier Creek is a designated Eaton County drain, located primarily in Delta Township. It functions as a storm water drain for approximately 11 square miles of Delta and Windsor townships and the City of Lansing.
