Invites Public to Carrier Creek Walk-Through


WHAT:     Public Walk-Through of Carrier Creek with Eaton County Drain Commissioner Brady Harrington‹an opportunity to learn more about this unique Delta Township drain project that combines stormwater drainage with natural creek restoration techniques.

The project was hailed earlier this year by the Michigan Association of County Drain Commissioners as an example of best management practices that balance stormwater management with stream ecology improvements.

WHO:     Carrier Creek presentation and walk-through by Eaton County Drain Commissioner Brady Harrington and project designers and engineers.

WHEN:     Saturday, October 11, at 10 a.m.
       
WHERE:   The Friends of Carrier Creek Association will meet at the northwest edge of the Mouth Hope Church parking lot‹202 South Creyts Road‹for the walk-through. A large white Carrier Creek banner will be hung at the edge of the parking lot, indicating the Drain Commissioner¹s Right-of-Way. The creek is about a quarter-mile walk west.


Carrier Creek is a designated Eaton County drain, located primarily in Delta Township. It functions as a storm water drain for approximately 11 square miles of Delta and Windsor townships and the City of Lansing.
